How do they freeze off genital warts?

I have genital warts. I'm going to my doctor today to talk about the procedure where they freeze them off. Can someone tell me a little more about this procedure? How it works? What they do? Does it hurt?

I've had them for about a year or so now, but I didnt have insurance before- thats why I didnt get the procedure done. Now that I have insurance I want these things off of my body.

Please, serious answers only. I dont need anyone telling me that I'm gross because you will be reported.

    Thanks!

  1. freezing will heart because it is painful procedure… one of the most effective but painful!

you can remove genital warts by surgery, freezing, laser, acid or with cream but genital warts can reappear again and again because genital warts appears when your immune system is weak! so you must build up your immune system because your body can get rid of genital warts by itself if your immune system will be strong! so eat more healthy food, more vitamins and more sport activities!

also you should use some herbal treatment!

in that case Wartrol is a good (probably the best) product that gets rid of genital warts and makes you feel more confident knowing that they wont reappear again! of course if you will use full course (5 months - if I remember correctly).

    It worked for me!

I do not know if any pharmacies carry Wartrol but I do know that you should purchase it directly from the manufacturer and read more about the product here http://www.wartrol.com/?aid=749165

    good luck!

  4. Ordinarily they don't freeze genital warts. The process usually causes a blister to form over the site of the wart in question, and that's painful to have in the groin area. With genital warts, most often they apply a liquid called Podophyllin, which peels them off gradually. It's not the fastest remedy in the world, but it's a lot more comfy to have done. If the doctor actually does use liquid nitrogen to freeze them, it will start off cold and then burn. If he/she uses liquid podophyllin, it won't hurt at all. Usually most of our patients say that it causes an itch or irritation, but that's the worst of it. I will also warn you that even though you are treated, the warts can still return again. It depends on how long and how well your body is able to supress the virus that causes them, and if you get reinfected. Really I don't get what all the fuss is about genital warts. A wart is still just a wart, all of them are caused by a variation of the same stupid virus- human papilloma. You wouldn't feel the need to be embarassed or defensive if the wart in question were on your finger, and shouldn't feel that way because it's located someplace else. However, I wouldn't worry much about the discomfort of having them treated for removal. I've help with loads of them, and never lost a patient yet to the treatment. You will do fine. Depending on the warts and the doctor, there are also treatments that you can be prescribed to apply yourself, and spare yourself having to return several times. Might be worth asking about that.
